/CONDUCTING

Ellen first caught their passion for conducting while conducting one of their works in the Sandham Memorial Chapel in 2015. Alongside conducting their own works, Ellen has attended Alice Farnham's RPS Women Conductors scheme, the Girton Conducting Course and studied conducting as an elective at the Royal Academy of Music under Dominic Grier. During their time at the Royal Academy of Music, Ellen conducted their own new music ensemble, the Luna Collective, and their essay on conducting practice was used as an example for future classes.

While completing their masters, Ellen regularly conducted the King's College Orchestra, ending the course by conducting in the renowned King's College Chapel. During which time Ellen received lessons on contemporary conducting with Darren Bloom.

Ellen is currently preparing for PhD applications, including plans to renew the Luna Collective during their PhD.
